Geographical Location

Perfectly placed for transhipment, Bulgaria is located in the southeastern corner of Europe, between Black Sea and Danube, as crossing point of Main East-West traffic to Asia and North-South traffick to Mediterranean. The country strategic location means it has always played an important role in international trade and puts it in an ideal position for feedering and transhipment services. Our specialised transhipment department provides comprehensive chartering and feedering services and undertakes the receipt, handling and despatch of all cargo in transit to any destination near to far. A sophisticated computer control system means Unishipping International is able to provide principals with immediate and accurate information on the position of each shipment at all times.

Main activities of Unishipping International for period 1993 - 1997 are export and transit of cigarettes and alcohol to Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaidjan, Kazakhstan, Tirkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan, Kirgizstan, Afghanistan and Far East. About 50 vessels and 1,000 railway wagons has been shipped with gross weight more than 40,000 tons.

Together with RCL Ltd., Unishipping International proceeding a unique container line Varna / Taganrog, Russia which makes connection between Bulgaria and all CIS countries, Mongolia, Afghanistan, China and Far East by railway transhipment via Russia. Between 30 and 36 vessels per year routing since 1993 up to now.

Unishipping International started its business with regular transhipments of galvanised, spring, copper coated steel wires and ropes from Ukraine to China, South Africa and Middle East. The tonnage is between 5 and 10,000 tons per year. Last year has been started regular transit of Ferro chrome ore - about 50,000 tons annually, from Russia to West Europe.

About 150 per year is a number of the trucks chartered from Unishipping International leaving Bulgaria to CIS countries and South Europe Greece, Italy and Spain, Iran and Middle East Syria, Lebanon, as well as Scandinavia. More than 500 TEUS per year was booked with different container lines like MSC, Bulcon, Sea Land, Evergreen, EMC etc.

Location of our warehouse is 5 km. far from Varna-West Port, equipped with all facilities needed to handle truck/trailers, railway wagons and containers, including full range of fork-lifts. The own rail road branch makes easy proceeding of ferryboat wagons, arriving from Varna Ferryboat complex which is placed near Varna-West Port.
